A Beginners Guide to Ecigarettes

So you’ve decided to give ecigarettes a go, but are now completely confused by all the options and models available. Never fear this article will describe the different options and what they mean in plain English.

The first thing you need to know are the parts the ecigarette are made up of.

1. The battery
2. The cartomiser (this contains the nicotine solution that produces the vapour)

At JAC Vapour we sell 2 different styles of battery
1. Vgo batteries – These are large batteries, a bit like cigars that will last all day
2. Standard V3 batteries – These are batteries that mimic the look of a real cigarette and are preferred by those new to vaping.

As a beginner, it’s best to go for something that is familiar in look and size to real smoking, so stick with the standard V3 batteries to begin with and you can always move on to the bigger batteries later if you wish.

The next thing you need to decide is how to charge your ecigarette batteries, the smaller batteries will need recharged ever 2hrs if you’re using it a lot, so you use one battery while charging another and then swap over. If you’re stopping normal smoking you will almost definitely need 2 batteries, so do not buy a kit with 1 battery.

So onto the charger options. If you are constantly near a power supply, then the wall chargers and usb chargers are fine, but if you are out and about (away from a power supply) you will need a PCC. A PCC is Portable Charging Case and works in the following way:

Charge the PCC from the mains or from your computer overnight, you can then charge batteries when you wish using the case. So while you’re using one battery the other is conveniently charging so that’s ready for use as soon as you need it. The PCCs also provide space for spare cartomisers and batteries depending on the model, these make a very convenient way to carry around everything you need, so that when you fancy a vape, be it in the pub, at work etc. you always have everything on hand in small neat package.

There are a few different styles of case, and most of it comes down to the look you prefer:

The Excel Case – this is a large case (1.5 times the size of a packet of cigarettes) and not very pocket friendly, but fine in a jacket or handbag. This can charge 2 batteries at the same time and hold 6 spare cartomisers. This is good for heavy users, and will never leave you short if used with 3 batteries, fully charged and loaded with 3 batteries it’ll keep you going most of the weekend. It has a capacity of 1500 mah (it will recharge 5-6 batteries). This will  work for any kind of vaper, moderate to light with 2 batteries, and a heavy vaper with 3 batteries.

The Classic case – This is a good all rounder, it’s the case I started with and still use. It’s made of metal (hard
wearing) with a leather look, can charge 1 battery at a time and carry 2 spare cartomisers. It has capacity of 1200 mah (it will recharge 4 batteries). This will work for any type of vaper, and even last a heavy vaper most of the day.

The Sport Case – Good for out in the pub, with a futuristic look, very neat and small. This will charge a battery and carry 2 spare cartomises. It has a capacity of 1000 mah (3 batteries). Good for moderate to light vapers, or heavy vapers on a night out.

The V1P Case –
The best looking of the bunch and very high quality again with a mobile phone style futuristic look. It has a capacity of 1200 mah, but takes a while to charge a battery (3hrs). This is good for moderate to light vapers.

So that covers what you require:
1. V3 batteries
2. Cartomisers
3. A charger or PCC

The cartomsiers come either empty or prefilled, to begin with go for the prefilled, and then once you are familiar with the device experiment with filling your own, as it greatly reduces the cost. Our cartomisers can be used over and over again, and are easy to refill, plus it opens up a endless world of different flavours.

Amazing technology – the e cig

Below is an article from a guest writer and customer Elizabeth who runs her own blog which among many things covers the topic of ecigarettes and smoking.

Amazing technology – the e cig

The anti smoking lobby have been so powerful in changing public opinion away from smoking that smokers are at a loss. Those who won’t be bullied not to smoke, find their whole lives transformed into an uncomfortable “where CAN I smoke?” ritual. Some just throw up their hands and stay at home to entertain and socialise. Or build a smokers’ home-pub in their gardens. For those who have given up the battle against persecution, travel is out, applying for work a judgemental hurdle and employment smoker unfriendly. Even the idea of finding oneself in hospital can be frightening to a committed smoker needing a self medicating nicotine “fix”. But they have been rescued by modern technology. The the earliest known description of the e cig concept was thought out by Herbert A. Gilbert in 1963. Of course, in the sixties, smokers had not been marginalised so there was no “use” for such a thing. But the modern electronic cigarette was patented and produced by a Chinese pharmacist Hon Lik in 2003. Here are his patents While Herbert Gilbert’s and Hon Lik’s devices look similar and are “electronic”and both use a battery, they function differently, producing different results. Gilbert’s idea was to heat air, which is then drawn through a flavored filter producing no visible vapor. Lik’s design is how all e-cigs work today. A liquid is heated until it becomes a visible vapour – which is then inhaled. Lik, a heavy smoker himself, conceived the idea of the e cig that produces inhalable vapour, in a dream in 2000. It was perfectly timed! E cigs are the answer to the beleaguered smoker’s prayers! They are fun, they do the job of delivering his fix in a more healthful way than burning leaves with added chemicals and they don’t make the terrifyingly vilified second hand smoke that make tobacco smokers outcasts. E cigs are amazing technology. How they will alter our lives, how the non-smoking world is responding to them, and my own experiences will be the topics of future blogs from Elizabeth.

The Future of the electric cigarette

While other ecigarette suppliers continue to produce the same stuff they were selling 3 years ago JAC Vapour pretty much sits alone in adopting the new technology as soon as it becomes available. Our New ecig will go on sale soon and the emphasis is entirely on quality, our aim is not to make something that looks identical to a real cigarette, but something that is cooler and holds a desirability quality, something you’re actually proud to show off or own (imagining doing that with a packet of cigarettes).

The shape of things to come

Things are changing quite rapidly in the electronic cigarette industry at present with lots of new technology and better designs. At JAC Vapour we’re determined to provide the latest and best kits available while at the same time trying to keep it simple. Over the next couple of months we have the following upgrades arriving:

New extended life 62mm batteries with rubber coatings and switch protection, this means they shouldn’t be as delicate when over filled or near water.

New 650 mah and 900 mah Vgo battery in black and white rubber. These are unregulated batteries and last a very long time. We will have the manual version, so these will go on and on.

new larger cart size: as well as the standard carts we’ve bigger one coming with the same V3 technology, meaning massive vapour for longer.

New PCC: this is similar to the Sport but made from aluminium  with a slider action, test samples are on the way. It’s a 1200 mah PCC that will hold 1 full ecig and 2-3 spare carts

Coloured bungs and end caps: If you like being able to tell which flavour is in which cart quickly, but don’t like some of the cart colours these coloured bungs are the answer, use them white or black carts for a sleek looking ecig in all black or all white.

The Popularity of the new V3 electronic cigarettes from JAC Vapour

The new V3 or version 3 of the JAC Vapour electronic cigarette are proving extremely popular, and, if truth be told, we are currently struggling a bit to keep up with demand. At present our customer base is currently doubling every month, so I’ll apologise to anybody that’s waiting for their favourite flavour or PCC to come back in stock. I knew these devices would appeal to people, but a lot of good reviews from veteran vapers that had given up on devices as small as ours, has increased demand beyond anything we imagined.

Never fear though, we have a large order of stock on it’s way and hope it will land in the store towards the end of next week, we also have another order of 10x times that amount following soon after, so hopefully that will see us back on track with supplies.

Looking to the future, we have samples arriving of larger batteries that will keep you going all day and another new, very cool PCC, that is currently not stocked anywhere else. If these initial samples test well we’ll have them in store by the end of September hopefully. We’ve also got drip tips and pass throughs arriving (due to many requests) and everything will be compatible with our exceptional cartomisers.
