A cloud-chasers guide

So, you've switched to vaping but aren't satisfied with the vapour you're getting? Read on for our guide for cloud-chasers.
Cloud-chasing is a big deal in vaping circles. While many vapers are all in for flavour, for some volume of vapour is king. But what can you do to really maximise clouds? Well, there are some easy steps you can take.
Step one for any cloud chaser is to switch to a high-VG e-liquid. VG (Vegetable Glyercine) can be found in most e-liquids, and is used predominantly for its effectiveness at generating vapour.
If you really want those thick, voluminous clouds, shoot for an e-liquid that uses at least 70% VG. The higher, the better.
Get the right kit
To really increase that vapour volume, you need to ensure you're using the right kit. The restricted vape of mouth to lung tanks can be great for flavour, but aren't so great for clouds.
First off, you'll need a tank which offers adjustable airflow so that you can tailor how much air is getting to your coil for best results. You should also try to make sure that the tank you choose mounts the coil directly above the airflow.
And the coil build you choose definitely matters as well. Look for something which offers plenty of surface area (such as a clapton coil, or a heavy gauge wire) and adequate airflow (a wide, vertical build is a good option). JAC's own S-22 tank when paired with a 0.5Ohm direct lung coil is a great choice.
Plus, you'll need a device which can supply the power you'll need to get the most from your tank. A mod such as the SERIES-B DNA 75W can offer up to 75W, which is plenty some impressive cloud chasing.
Turn up the watts
Simply put, more power = more vapour.
But wait, it's not quite as simple as that. Yes, cranking up the power on your device to the max will mean a hotter coil, hence more vapour, but there is a balance required. Run your coil too hot and you risk burning the wick, which you really don't want to do. One way of avoiding this is to look into the temperature control capabilities of devices like our SERIES-B DNA 75W, which can help to prevent burnt wicks.
This comes back to using the right kit. Make sure your tank is capable of operating at the higher wattages required to really get the best results. Keep that airflow opened up, and gradually turn up the watts to make sure you don't exceed the capabilities of your tank.
The other thing to consider is the heat of your vapour. Higher watts means greater temperatures, which is another reason to spring for a tank which offers adjustable airflow so that you can tailor your vaping experience.
Drop the resistance
We're living in the era of sub-ohm vaping, and that has greatly benefited those who would chuck clouds. These ultra-low resistance coils reach much higher temperatures, so can produce much more vapour than a more conventional set up.
Running a sub-ohm tank demands that you have a device and/or battery which is capable of coping with the power demands that entails. A variable wattage mod like the SERIES-B DNA 75W when kitted out with a suitable battery rated for at least 20A continuous amperage is more than capable of running builds down to around 0.2Ohm.
Open up that airflow
Airflow is another key factor in the amount of vapour you can expect. In general, more air is better for greater volume of vapour, but it can be taken too far.
Airflow also has an effect on the resistance of your vape. A nice wide airflow will produce an airy vape, loose vape than some may not like, while a closed off airflow will provide plenty of resistance, but will mean hotter vapour (and a risk of burning your wick).
