Nova Tanks Help Guide

  • About

Nova tanks feature a premium build quality, as well as the greatest capacity in our range. Our standard Nova tank will hold 2ml of e-liquid, while a larger 3.5ml version is also available.

Nova tanks come fitted with a 2.4Ohm long wick coil as standard, but are supplied with two spares (one 1.8Ohm, and one 2.8Ohm). Replacement coils are available for purchase separately.

  • FAQ

HOW LONG WILL MY NOVA TANK LAST FOR BEFORE IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED? HOW DO I KNOW IF IT NEEDS REPLACING?

The wick and coil in the tank is expected to last for around 10 re-fills before it will need to be replaced. If using VG e-liquid, this tends to clog up atomisers more quickly reducing the lifespan. You will know when the atomiser needs to be changed, as the performance and vapour production will drop. When using the tank, try keeping the wicks wet by rolling the e-cigarette before taking a drag, especially when the tank gets low, this will make sure that the wicks are constantly soaked and will prevent them dry burning.

HOW DOES THE E-LIQUID NOT LEAK OUT OF THE TANK

All of our tanks seals built into them to prevent leaking.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE 2.4OHM RESISTANCE WICK AND COIL AND THE 2.8OHM RESISTANCE WICK AND COIL?

When you lower the resistance of the coil, you will increase vapour, however, you will sacrifice taste a bit. Some people prefer to use a lower resistance as it provides a greater throat hit also, but some e-liquids can get a slight burnt taste. Therefore, you get the choice of 2.8Ohm and 2.4Ohm, depending on what you would like from your e-cig.

CAN YOU USE A NOVA TANK WITH A V3 OR V3I BATTERY?

No, Nova Tanks can only be used with the Vgo2 batteries.

ARE YOU ABLE TO BUY SPARE TANKS FOR THE VGO2?

Yes, all of our tanks are available to purchase separately.

SHOULD I WASH MY TANK WHEN I CHANGE THE E-LIQUID FLAVOUR?

You don’t need to, however, it is recommended. Below is our step by step guide showing you how to do this:

    • Empty out the tank of any leftover e-liquid. It is advised to use rubber gloves when cleaning the tank, to prevent extended contact with the skin.
    • Next, disassemble your tank by detaching the main housing from the base, and then remove the wick and coil.
    • Rinse out the various components of the tank in warm, not hot, water. Do not use any detergent or soap, as this can damage the seals and glue in the tank. If you are cleaning the coil, rinse this with warm water, and make sure to get all the e-liquid out of the wicks.
    • Leave the tank and all of its components to air-dry fully. This is important, as any excess water left in the tank can cause damage if vaporised. The best method is to leave the tank overnight to air dry, and then use some paper towel to clear away an excess water.
    • All you now need to do, is reassemble and refill the tank. Make sure to give the tank at least 30 minutes for the e-liquid to soak into the wicking.

  • Troubleshooting

THE E-LIQUID IS NOW PRODUCING A BURNT TASTE

If you have a VV battery, check to see if it is set at too high a voltage. High settings (4.2v and above) may effect the flavour of the e-liquid, which comes through as a burnt taste.

If the voltage of the battery is set too high, turning it down to below 4.2v should fix the issue. When using a fresh coil, it is important to not turn the voltage up straight away.

If the power setting is fine:

    • Check to see if the coil is okay and if it needs to be replaced. The coils are expected to last for around 10 fills each before needing to be replaced, however, this number can vary from user to user depending on variables such as the type of e-liquid, the power setting of the battery and usage.
    • It is important to keep the wicks fully saturated in e-liquid as this prevents them from dry burning. This is particularly important when filling the tank with a new coil. Make sure to always allow the new wick around 20-30 minutes for the e-liquid to soak in.
    • Find out the resistance of the coil you have. Low resistance coil produce more vapour, however, can affect the flavour. The three coils available for the Nova are rated at 1.8Ohm (low resistance), 2.4Ohm and 2.8Ohm (high resistance).

If you are still having and issues after checking the above, please contact customer service.

    HOW TO REPLACE THE COIL

    • Take the tank off the battery and unscrew the base.
    • Unscrew the atomiser from the centre post and screw inthe replacement coil.
    • Refit the base on the tank.
    • Allow the new wick time to saturate before use, around 20-30 minutes.

    THE TANK IS LEAKING

If the tank is leaking from the base:

    • Check to see if everything in the tank is screwed together tightly, and hasn’t been cross threaded.
    • Make sure that the correct coil is being used in your tank as the Nova Tanks have their own specific coils. If unsure, contact customer service.
    • Ensure that you haven’t overfilled the tank or got any e-liquid in the tank during filling. To clear out e-liquid if it has gotten in the centre post, simply blow through the mouthpiece to clear through.
    • Take a look at the centre post in the tank to see if it is aligned properly. If this is not sitting straight, it could be causing the leak.
    • Make sure that the tank hasn’t been physically damaged.

If problems continue, and your tank is still within 2 weeks of purchase, contact customer service.

If leaking from the window/plastic tube of the tank:

    • Check to see if the tank hasn’t been physically damaged.

If the issue continues, contact customer service.

If leaking from the mouth piece:

    • Follow the above steps regarding leaking from the base.
    • Make sure that the tank hasn’t been left horizontally or upside down. If so, this can cause e-liquid to be forced through the seals. Simply blowing through the tank will clear away any excess e-liquid, and should fix the issue.
    • If you are taking a series of long and deep drags on the e-cig, this can sometimes have the effect of drawing too much e-liquid into the atomising chamber, and essential flood it. This then means the coil fails to vaporise all the e-liquid, leaving the rest to travel up the centre pipe and into the mouthpiece. By using the e-cigarette moderately, this should allow the atomiser to work properly.
    • It is important to use the tank in an upright position, as using horizontally or vertically can cause e-liquid to be forced through the seals.

If the issue persists, and if the tank is still inside 2 weeks of purchase, contact customer service.

Something to note as well with the tanks, is that they will build-up some condensation at times. This is a mixture of the user's breathe and the vapour produced from the tank, which then collects beneath the mouthpiece. If you are experiencing a leak from the mouthpiece of your tank, remove the mouthpiece and use some kitchen tissue to wipe away any excess that may be sitting there.

    MY TANK WON’T PRODUCE VAPOUR

We recommend to check if the tank works on one of your other batteries first. If it does, the issue is most likely with the battery opposed to the tank.

If the tank won’t produce vapour, check to see how old the tank is, and when the coil was last replaced. We expect our coils to last for roughly 10 re-fills each before needing to be replaced. If you have filled the tank around 10 times and haven’t replaced the coil, we would recommend to do this.

It is important to check that the coil is fitted in tightly, and hasn’t been cross threaded when screwed in. If the coil isn’t sitting correctly in the tank, it may be causing a poor connection and preventing it from working properly.

If the problem continues after trying the above, contact customer service.
