510 Evod 2 Help Guide
The Evod 2 tank is a bottom dual coil (BDC) rebuildable tank (replaceable wick and coil). Two coils are fitted on each head, which means greater vapour production. They use the same PT3 coils used by the rest of the Kanger Protank series.
The bottom fitting design also means smaller wicks and less chance of them running dry. The tanks feature a polypropylene chamber with a metal sheath covering and replaceable mouthtip.
Evod 2 tanks are filled from the bottom, meaning that the base of the tank unscrews from the rest of the unit. With the base removed, you will then have easy access in order to refill.
Evod 2 tanks are eGo threaded, meaning they look great out of the box, with no beauty ring required.
These tanks are not compatible with our V3i or Vgo2 range of products.
HOW MANY RE-FILLS WILL MY TANK GET BEFORE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED? HOW CAN YOU TELL WHEN THE COIL NEEDS REPLACING?
The coils in the tank should last for roughly 10 re-fills, however, some variables can drop this figure. For example, as VG e-liquid is thicker, it clogs up the atomiser more, and reduces life span slightly. You will know when the coil needs replacing, as the performance will start to drop.
HOW DOES THE TANK PREVENT E-LIQUID FROM LEAKING?
The EVOD 2, and all of our tanks, have built in seals to prevent them from leaking.
DO YOU NEED TO PURCHASE AN OPTIONAL MOUTHPIECE, OR DOES THE TANK COME WITH ONE AS STANDARD?
EVOD 2 tanks come with an attractive stainless steel mouthpiece. This, however, can be replaced with any of the 510 mouthpiece.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 1.5OHM RESISTANCE WICK AND COILS, AND 2.0OHM RESISTANCE WICK AND COILS?
Low resistance coils (1.5Ohm) provide the user with a greater volume of vapour and greater throat hit, than a higher resistance coil (2.0Ohm). When using a lower resistance coil, this may, however, effect the flavour. If you are looking to get flavour from your e-cigarette, but slightly less vapour/throat hit, stick to the higher resistance coils.
Our EVOD 2 tanks are fitted with 1.5Ohm dual-coils, however, they can be replaced with coils compatible with the EVOD 2, Protank 3, Mini Protank 3 and Aero Tank.
WHAT BATTERIES ARE THE EVOD 2 TANKS COMPATIBLE WITH?
The EVOD 2 tanks are compatible with all of our JAC 510 batteries, including the Twist batteries.
ARE YOU ABLE TO WASH THE TANK TO PREVENT MIXING E-LIQUID FLAVOURS?
Yes, you are able to, here's how...
- While wearing rubber gloves, to prevent any prolonged contact with the e-liquid, remove out any excess e-liquid that may be left in the tank.
- Remove the coil from the base of the tank.
- Wash through the components with some warm water to clear out the previous e-liquid. It is important that you only use warm water, as hot, or soapy, water can damage the tank and their seals.
- Allow the tank and the components to dry by leaving them upright to dry, preferably overnight. If there is any excess water, this can be cleared away using paper towel.
- Connect the tank back together, and give the coil around 30 minutes for the e-liquid to soak in.
The PT3 V1 coils which can be used with this tank feature a rubber chimney cap mounted half way up the unit. This seal is essential in order to prevent leakage and should not be removed.
I AM GETTING A BURNT TASTE, I THINK IT’S THE E-LIQUID
On variable voltage batteries, make sure that the voltage isn’t set high. If the voltage is 4.2v and above, this may affect the e-liquids flavour. To prevent the battery from giving your e-liquid a burnt taste, try to keep the voltage below 4.2v.
When using a new coil, it is important to keep the voltage low so that you don’t dry burn the wicks.
If you feel that the batteries power setting is fine, the coil may need to be replaced. Coils should last for around 10 re-fills, and if the tank has been re-filled more than 10 times, it may need replacing. Ensure to give the new coil 30 minutes for the e-liquid to soak in once the tank has been filled.
If, after checking the above, you are still having issues, please contact customer service.
HOW IS THE COIL REPLACED?
All you need to do is unscrew the base of the tank and unscrew the coil. Once you have done this, simply connect the new coil, re-connect the tank and fill with e-liquid. Make sure to give the coil 30 minutes for the e-liquid to soak into the wicking.
MY TANK IS LEAKING
If the tank is leaking from the base:
Make sure that you are using the correct coil in your tank. If using the wrong coil, it could be allowing e-liquid to leak through.
Have a look at your tank to ensure that everything is screwed tightly into place. If there are any loose components, it is important to tighten these.
Check to see if you have overfilled the tank, or managed to get some e-liquid in the centre pipe. If you have, blowing through the tank, when disconnected from the battery, will clear this through.
Ensure that the tanks centre post is aligned properly, and that there has been no physical damage.
If, after checking the above, you are still experiencing leakage, you should try changing the coil. Coils will typically last for around 10 fills before needing to be replaced. As they age, however, problems like leakage are more likely to appear.
If you are still seeing problems, and your tank is still within 2 weeks of purchase, contact customer service.
If the tank is leaking from the window:
When the tank is leaking from the window, have a look to see if the tank has been damaged.
If the leaking continues, contact customer service.
When there is leaking from the mouth piece:
Run through the steps on when the tank is leaking from the base.
If the tank has been left upside down or horizontally for an extended period of time, this can cause e-liquid to get into the centre pipe. Blowing through the tank when disconnected from the battery should fix this problem.
If you are taking consecutive deep, and long, draws on the battery, this tends to draw too much e-liquid into the coil. As the coil is essentially flood with e-liquid, it’s unable to vaporise it all, and cause the remainder to come up the centre pipe. This can, however, be prevented through moderate use of the e-cig.
It’s important to keep the tank upright as much as you can. When left horizontal or upside down, e-liquid can be forced through the seals.
If the problem continues, and the tank is inside two weeks of purchase, contact customer service.
It is important to know that all tanks will get a build up of condensation. This condensation occurs from a mixture of the user’s breath and the vapour produced. This condensation will collect in the mouthpiece, and can be cleared by removing this and wiping it away with some paper towel.
THERE IS NO VAPOUR BEING PRODUCED BY MY TANK
Find out when you purchased the tank and when you last replaced the coil. If the tank has been re-filled 10 or more times, we recommend to replace the coil as this should improve the performance.
If, after changing the coil, you are still have issues, contact customer service.
