510 Nova Tanks Help Guide
JAC 510 Nova tanks feature superior build quality and include a replaceable 510 drip tip. These are bottom dual-coil tanks, meaning that each atomiser head is fitted with two coils for greater vapour production.
As the coils are mounted at the bottom of the tank, they are able to produce a smoother, more consistent vape.
WHEN DO YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE WICK AND COIL IN THE TANK?
All of our wick and coils are expected to last for around 10 re-fills of the tank, before they will need to be replaced. You may find that you get less than 10 re-fills from you coil, however, if you are a heavy user or if using VG e-liquid. As VG e-liquid is thicker, it does tend to clog the coil up and reduce life span slightly.
HOW DOES THE NOVA TANK PREVENT THE E-LIQUID FROM LEAKING OUT?
In all of our tanks, we have built in seals that are there to prevent any leaking.
DOES THE NOVA TANK COME WITH A MOUTHPIECE AS STANDARD?
Our JAC 510 Nova tank come with a black mouthpiece as standard, and these can also be replaced with any of the available 510 mouthpieces.
CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 1.6OHM AND 1.8OHM WICK AND COIL?
On the 1.6Ohm (low resistance) wick and coil, you will notice more vapour production and throat hit than you would get with the higher resistance 1.8Ohm wick and coil. However, with the lower resistance coils, as they burn hotter, you may notice an effect on the overall flavour. If you are looking for flavour, opposed to the throat hit and vapour production, we would recommend to stick to a higher resistance wick and coil.
Our JAC 510 Nova tanks use dual-coils, which means that there are two coils on the atomiser head. The benefit of having a second coil, is great vapour production and an overall smoother vaping experience.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THE 510 NOVA TANK WITH ANY BATTERY?
Our JAC 510 Nova tanks can be used on our range of JAC 510 batteries, however, are unable to be used on V3i or Vgo2 batteries, due to a different connection.
I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE THE FLAVOUR OF E-LIQUID I’M USING, CAN I WASH MY TANK?
Yes you can wash the tank, here's how:
- Clear out the tank of any leftover e-liquid. As you will be in contact with the e-liquid, it is recommended to wear some rubber gloves while doing this.
- Unscrew your tank and remove the wick and coil.
- With warm water, rinse through the tank and the wick and coil, ensuring to clear away all e-liquid. It is important that you only use warm water, as hot or soapy water can damage the tank.
- Leave the tank overnight to dry, ensuring that all water has dried. If there is any excess water, when this is vaporised, this can damage the tank.
- Screw the tank back together, re-fill with the new e-liquid, and leave for 30 minutes to allow the e-liquid to soak into the wicks.
THERE IS A BURNT TASTE COMING FROM MY E-LIQUID
For those using variable voltage batteries, it is important to check what voltage the battery is set at. If above 4.2v, this can affect the flavour of the e-liquid, noticeable as a burnt taste. To prevent this from happening, simply keep the voltage on 4.2v or below.
If the power setting on the battery is at 4.2v or below, the next thing to check out is the coil. As the coils are expected to last for around 10 re-fills of the tank, if the tank has been filled 10 or more times, the coil may need to be replaced.
Ensure that you have given the e-liquid ample time, around 30 minutes, to soak into the wick. This is very important on a new coil, as the coil can dry burn if not given enough time for the e-liquid to soak in.
If you have any questions, or are still having trouble after checking the above, please contact customer service.
HOW IS THE TANKS COIL REPLACED?
- Unscrew the tank from the battery.
- Unscrew the base of the tank and remove the coil.
- Screw in the new coil and reattach the base of the tank.
- Give the new coil around 30 minutes before use, to soak in the e-liquid.
- Vape and enjoy.
THERE IS A LEAK IN MY TANK IS LEAKING
When leaking from the base
Check to see if everything in the tank is screwed in properly and that there are no loose components.
Ensure that you haven’t cross threaded when screwing the tank components together.
Check to see that the correct coil is being used in the tank, as only the 510 Crystal and Nova coils can be used with the 510 Nova tank. If unsure, contact customer service. Ensure that you have avoided pouring e-liquid into the centre pipe of the tank, and that you haven’t overfilled the tank either. If there is any e-liquid in the centre pipe, blowing through the tank, while disconnected from the battery, will clear this all through.
Check to see if the central pipe within the tank is aligned properly. If this is offset, there could be a gap allowing e-liquid to leak through.
If problems continues, make sure to contact customer service if you are still inside two weeks of purchase.
When leaking from the windowMake sure that the tank hasn’t been damaged by dropping or standing on it.
If the issue persists, contact customer service.
If leaking from the mouth piece
Check the steps on leaking from the base, in case any of these apply.
Ensure that the tank hasn’t been left upside down/horizontally for an extended period of time. If this is the case, there may be e-liquid in the centre pipe. To clear this out, simply blowing through the tank, while disconnected from the battery, should do that trick.
When using the e-cig, if you take several deep and long draws in succession, this tends to bring too much e-liquid into the atomising chamber. This then, basically, floods the coil and prevents it from vaporising all of the e-liquid. What e-liquid hasn’t been vaporised, is then left to travel up the centre pipe while taking a draw. To stop this happening, moderate use will allow the atomiser to work correctly.
We recommend to always use the tank upright, as using horizontally or upside down can cause e-liquid to be forced through the seals.
If issue continues, and the tank is still inside two weeks of purchase, contact customer service.
From general use, the tanks will develop a build-up of condensation over time. This is a combination of vapour and breathe, and tends to collect underneath the mouthpiece. To clear this, take off the mouthpiece and use some paper towel to wipe this away.
MY NOVA TANK WON’T PRODUCE ANY VAPOUR
Firstly, find out the age of the tank, and when you last replaced the coil. As the coils are expected to last for around 10 re-fills of the tank, if you have filled the tank this many times, it may be that the coil needs replaced.
If the problem continues to occur, contact customer service.
