510 Mini Protank 3 Help Guide
Each of the Protank series features glueless construction and a Pyrex glass chamber. All tanks in this range are fitted with bottom dual coil atomiser heads, which means a smoother, more consistent vape.
The Mini Protank 3 is fitted with a native eGo thread for a seamless look. They are suitable for use with our JAC 510 range of batteries.
Replacement dual coils are available in various resistances, and are compatible with the Evod 2, Protank 3, Mini Protank 3, and the Aero Tank.
These tanks are compatible with our full range of JAC 510 manual or Twist batteries, but are not compatible with our V3i or Vgo2 range of products.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I RE-FILL THE TANK BEFORE I NEED TO REPLACE THE COIL?
The coil within the tank will normally need to be changed after roughly 10 re-fills of the tank. If you are using VG e-liquid, however, this figure can drop due to the thickness of the liquid.
You will know when you need to change the coil, as you will notice a decline in both performance and vapour.
HOW DO THE TANKS NOT LEAK THE E-LIQUID ONCE THEY’VE BEEN FILLED?
All of the tanks that we sell have seals built into them, which prevents any e-liquid from escaping.
DO YOU HAVE TO BUY A MOUTHPIECE FOR THE MINI PROTANK 3?
Our Mini Protank 3 comes as standard with a stainless steel mouthpiece, however, this can be swapped for any of our 510 mouthpieces.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE WICK AND COILS THAT ARE AVILABLE FOR THE MINI PROTANK 3?
The coils available for the Mini Protank 3 are the 1.5Ohm resistance coil and the 1.8Ohm resistance coil. The lower resistance coil, the 1.5Ohm, will produce more vapour and throat hit, however, can affect the overall flavour with some e-liquids. On the 1.8Ohm coil, this will produce slight less vapour and throat hit, however, there will be less effect on flavour.
All of our Mini Protank 3’s come with a 1.5Ohm dual coil as standard.
WHAT BATTERIES CAN BE USED WITH THE MINI PROTANK 3?
The Mini Protank 3 uses a 510 connection and is therefore compatible with all of our JAC 510 and Twist batteries.
WHEN CHANGING E-LIQUID FLAVOURS, ARE YOU ABLE TO WASH THE TANK SO THAT THE FLAVOURS DON’T MIX?
You are able to do this, and here’s how:
- Firstly, empty the tank of any remaining e-liquid. Remember to wear gloves while doing this, as it will prevent any extended contact with the e-liquid.
- Take apart the various components of you tank.
- Rinse all of the tanks components, including the wick and coil. Only use warm water while doing this, as hot or soapy water can damage the tank.
- Leave the tanks components to air-dry, preferably overnight so that there are given enough time. It’s important that no water is left in the tank, as when vaporised, can damage the tank.
- Put the tank back together and allow around 30 minutes for the new e-liquid to soak into the wick.
The PT3 V1 coils which can be used with this tank feature a rubber chimney cap mounted half way up the unit. This seal is essential in order to prevent leakage and should not be removed.
I AM GETTING A BURNT TASTE FROM MY E-LIQUID
If the battery you have is variable voltage, check to see what voltage the battery is set to. If 4.2v or above, this can have an effect on the taste of the e-liquid. If above 4.2v, simply turning this down will stop the burnt taste. When filling a new coil for the first time, it’s important to keep the voltage below 4.2v to prevent burning the wicks.
If you don’t have the power setting too high, and you feel that it’s okay, have a look to see if the tanks coil needs replaced. The coils last for around 10 re-fills each before needing to be replaced. If you replace the coil, it’s important to keep the wicks soaked in e-liquid, so that they do not dry burn.
If the problem continues to occur, please contact customer service.
HOW IS THE COIL REPLACED?
- Take the tank off the battery and turn upside down.
- Unscrew the tanks base, releasing it from the rest of the unit.
- Remove the coil from the base of the tank.
- Connect the new coil to the tanks base.
- Screw the base of the tank back onto the tank.
- Give then new coil 30 minutes to allow the e-liquid to soak in.
- Vape and enjoy.
MY MINI PROTANK 3 IS LEAKING
If from the base:
Ensure that all of the tank is screwed tightly together, and that it hasn’t been cross-threaded anywhere.
Check to see if the coil inside the tank is the correct one. If in doubt, contact customer service.
Make sure that the tank hasn’t been overfilled, and that no e-liquid has gotten into the centre post while filling. If there is e-liquid inside the tanks centre pipe, this can be cleared out by blowing through the tank. Make sure that the tank is disconnected from the battery while doing this.
Ensure that the centre post is sitting right in the tank. If it’s not aligned properly, this can allow e-liquid to leak through.
If, after checking the above, you are still experiencing leakage, you should try changing the coil. Coils will typically last for around 10 fills before needing to be replaced. As they age, however, problems like leakage are more likely to appear.
If you are still seeing this issue, and the tank is still inside 2 weeks of purchase, contact customer service.
If leaking from the window:
Make sure that the tank hasn’t been dropped, or has encountered physical damage.
If the leaking continues, contact customer service.
When leaking from the mouth piece:
Check the steps on leaking from the base of the tank.
If the tank has been left to sit horizontally or upside for too long, the can cause e-liquid to get into the centre post. This can, however, be cleared through by blowing into the mouthpiece.
If you are taking consecutive, long and deep, draws, this can bring too much e-liquid into the coil. Due to there being too much e-liquid in the coil, it is then unable to vaporise it all, causing the remainder to travel up the centre pipe and into the mouthpiece. To stop this from happening, simply take less draws in a row, and slightly shorter draws.
It is important to also use the tank in an upright position. If used horizontally or upside down, leaking can occur and it will try to force through the seals. If the leaking continues, and if the tank is still inside two weeks of purchase, contact customer service.
Something to note, is that all tanks will see a build-up of condensation at some point during use. This is a combination from the breath of the user and the vapour being produced by the tank. If you remove the mouthpiece, you will see that this is where the condensation builds up. To clear this, use some paper towel.
THERE IS NO VAPOUR COMING FROM MY TANK
This is normally an issue with the coil. These are expected to last for around 10 re-fills each before they need to be replaced. If the tank has been filled 10 or more times, and the coil has yet to be replaced, try doing this as it should restore initial performance.
If you are still encountering the issue, contact customer service.
