THE LIGHT ON MY BATTERY HAS CHANGED COLOUR, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

The Series-E battery is features variable voltage, with each voltage setting having its own colour. To change the setting, simply click the button three times. The LED will then flash three times, and display the colour matching the voltage setting you have selected. These are:

    • Red – 3.7V
    • Green – 4.2V
    • White – 4.8V

HOW DO YOU ADJUST THE VOLTAGE?

The voltage can be adjusted on the Series-E battery by clicking the manual button three times in a row. There are three different voltage settings available on the Series-E, and these are:

    • Red – 3.7V
    • Green – 4.2V
    • White – 4.8V

    DO THE BATTERIES LAST FOREVER?

Unfortunately, the Series-E batteries will not last forever, but we do expect them to last for around 4-6 months before needing to be replaced.

To ensure that the batteries last for as long as possible, looking after the batteries carefully and making sure to clean them regularly is essential. Regular cleaning regularly will help to keep the batteries performing at a high standard. On our JAC Vapour YouTube Channel you will be able to find video guides showing how this is done.

MY SERIES-E BATTERY IS NO LONGER FIRING

The Series-E battery is fitted with a five-click lock which prevents it from firing accidentally. To activate the lock, simply click the button five times in quick succession. The same applies for unlocking the batteries. These button clicks do need to be performed quite quickly or they may not be registered.

If your battery is no longer producing vapour or lighting up when pressed, it is most likely that the lock has been activated. We have a short video guide which demonstrates how to unlock our manual and VV batteries.

WHY IS THE LED ON MY BATTERY FLASHING?

This most common reason for this happening is due to the battery being low on charge. Simply charging the battery should fix this issue.

Also note, however, that this can happen if the tank is screwed on to the battery too tightly. When this happens, it can cause the battery to short. To prevent this from happening, only screw the tank on until it is finger tight. If your battery is flashing at the moment, simply loosen it off gently and try using it again.

CAN I LEAVE MY TANK CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY WHEN NOT IN USE?

If not in use for a short period of time, it is fine to keep the tank connected to the battery. However, if you will not be using the device for an extended period of time, we recommend you disconnect the tank from the battery to minimise the risk of tank leaking and damaging the battery.

WHAT CHARGER DO I NEED FOR MY SERIES-E BATTERY?

The Series-E batteries have their own specific 4.2v output charger. These chargers have the correct 510 fitting and are for use only with the Series-E.

It is important that this charger is used for the Series-E batteries, as the incorrect charger can damage the battery and shorten overall lifespan.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE ANY E-LIQUID WITH THE VARIABLE VOLTAGE KITS?

Any e-liquid can be used with any kit. This includes e-liquids from other suppliers being used with our kits. Even though all e-liquid can be used, some do not perform as well as others. The very thick specialist e-liquids do tend to clog up the tank/coils much more quickly and reduce their lifespan.

    SHOULD I STOCKPILE BATTERIES?

As a general rule, no. Batteries left unused for extended periods will deplete over time. If the battery depletes entirely, it will no longer function. As warranty period applied to all batteries takes effect from when you receive your order, we will not be able to cover batteries outside of this period – even if they have been left unused.

Best practice here is to ensure you have enough batteries to keep you going at any one time. Particularly light vapers may get by with a single battery, though heavier users may need two or more in rotation to ensure that they aren’t left without.

It’s a good idea to have a back-up, just in case, though large numbers of back-ups are not advisable for the reasons laid above.

If you only use one battery, it’s sensible to have a second on hand. If this battery is to be left unused, however, we recommend making sure it is at least charged periodically. This will help to ensure that it still performs correctly when you do need to use it.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY BATTERIES?

If you aren’t going to be using your battery for a few days, it should be stored somewhere cool, and away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing multiple loose batteries together, and you should also ensure that they are kept away from any other metal objects.

Batteries will retain their charge for a considerable period of time, though they will naturally deplete. If you are going to leave a battery unused for longer periods, it’s advisable to leave it fully charged, as well as topping off the charge occasionally.

Avoid storing batteries with a cart or tank still attached if you know the battery won’t be used for some time. This will remove the risk of the tank leaking onto the battery.

  • Troubleshooting

Please note: When charging your SERIES-E battery, do not over tighten the battery in the charger. Doing so may risk damaging the battery or the charger. The battery should only be screwed in until it is finger tight. When the battery has established a connection with the charger, the light on the battery will flash, and the light on the charger will change from green to red.

    IDENTIFYING BATTERY FAULTS

Below is our checklist which will help identify faults with your batteries:

Does the battery fail to charge or turn on?

Check to see if your other batteries are charging using the same charger. If your other batteries are:

    • Run through the below steps on cleaning the battery. Alternatively, you can watch our video showing how to clean your batteries. Although the battery shown in the video is from our Vgo2 range, the same cleaning method applies.
    • Underneath the battery threading there are two holes that need to be kept clear of dirt and debris. To clear these out, simply use a pin/needle and poke each of the holes.
    • Use a needle to clear the connection point of the battery. By doing this, it will clear away any dirt or debris that may be preventing a good connection.
    • Use some paper towel to wipe away any leftover dirt and debris that may be on the threading or connection of the battery.

If your battery still won't work:

    • Find out when the battery was purchased and if it is still inside its 60 day warranty period.
    • If the battery is no longer inside the 60 day warranty, or has reached the end of its life span, you will need to purchase a new battery. If the battery is inside the warranty period, please contact our customer support team.

If other batteries won't charge using the same charger:

    • Ensure that the charger is receiving power and that the connection of the charger is also clean (following the same steps as laid out above).

If the charger is clean and receiving power:

    • Have a look to find out when the charger was purchased as our chargers have a four month warranty period.
    • If your charger is no longer covered under the warranty / has reached the end of its lifespan: You will need to purchase a new charger for your battery.
    • If your charger is inside the four month warranty, please contact our customer support team.

MY TANK ISN’T PRODUCING VAPOUR AND THE BATTERY IS FLASHING

If possible, find out if the tank works on another battery:

    • Yes: the battery is most likely at fault here opposed to the tank being the issue. As this is the case, check out our battery troubleshooting
    • No: the wick and coil may be in need of replacing. The wick and coils should be replaced roughly every 10 fills of the tank.
If you change the wick and coil and this doesn’t get the tank producing vapour, please contact customer service.

    BURNT TASTE FROM THE E-LIQUID

Firstly check to see what voltage setting the battery is on. If the voltage is at 4.8v, this may be having an effect on the e-liquid flavour and could be the reason for the burnt taste. If the voltage is set to 4.8v, try turning it down to 4.2v or even 3.7v. It is important to keep the voltage at 4.2v or below with a fresh coil also, as having the voltage too high can burn the wick.

If the power setting of the battery is fine, the next thing to check is the coil. We expect the coils to last for around 10 re-fills of the tank, and will normally need to be replaced after this. Depending on the power setting of the battery and the type of e-liquid uses, this figure can drop slightly.

It is also important to ensure that the wicks are fully saturated with e-liquid, as this will prevent them from dry burning. When filling the tank with a fresh coil, this is very important as this is when the wick is most prone to burning. We recommend to give a fresh wick around 20-30 minutes for the e-liquid to soak in before using the tank.

If, after trying the above, you are still having issues, please contact customer service.

BATTERY FIRING WHEN NOT IN USE

This is an issue which is being caused by a problem with the manual button, usually causing it to become jammed in the ‘On’ position. This can happen over time and is considered normal wear and tear unless it is happening within the warranty time.

If e-liquid has leaked onto the exterior battery casing, it may have dried around the switch mechanism – clicking the button a few times may be enough to clear any blockage. However, if this does not resolve the problem we recommend you contact customer service if you are still inside your warranty period. Otherwise dispose of the battery.

In all circumstances, we recommend you stop using the battery right way, disconnect any carts/tanks attached, and leave it to discharge before returning or disposing of the battery."

SERIES-E BATTERY NOT FIRING (LED FLASHING)

If your battery fails to fire, and the LED flashes when you push the button (with the tank attached), the tank may be screwed on too tightly. In some cases, this can create a short, which causes the battery to fail to fire correctly. Try loosening the tank slightly to reduce the pressure on the matching pin on the battery.

If the above resolves the issue, ensure that when you use the tank, you continue to avoid over-tightening.

If the tank is now too loose, the beauty ring attached to the top of the battery can also be used to take up any slack. Simply loosen the beauty ring off enough so that it sits flush with the base of the tank.

If you continue to have trouble after checking the above, and your battery is still within warranty, contact customer service.
